We save this category for non bourbon/rye whiskies. These are made from a variety of cereal grains with a wide variety of techniques including wheat whisky, charcoal filtered or even flavored.

Must be made in the USA, but not necessarily in Kentucky has a mash (the mixture of grains from which the product is distilled) which contains at least 51 percent corn. It must be Aged in a new charred White oak barrel at 125 proof or less, and it must not contain any additives. The mash must be distilled at 160 proof or less, the distillate.

Normally triple distilled, and by law, must be produced in Ireland, aged in wooden casks for a period of no less than three years and bottled in Ireland. Irish whiskeys fall into one of several types; single malt, single grain, blended and pure pot still whiskey. Slainte! | Rye whiskey has traditionally been known as Canadian whiskey but in more recent years has started to build significant substyles and popularity among whisky drinkers and has become a large part of the American Whiskey market. In the US to be considered a Rye Whiskey the mash bill must contain at least 51% rye.

Traditionally made by distilling the liquid from cereal grains that have been fermented, with potatoes arising as a substitute in more recent times, and some modern brands using fruits as the base. Vodka is traditionally drunk “neat” (not mixed with water, ice, or other mixers), and it is often served chilled in the vodka belt of Belarus, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, and Ukraine.

Distilled alcoholic drink that derives its predominant flavor from juniper berries. Gin originated as a medicinal liquor made by monks in Italy. Gin today is produced in different ways from a wide range of herbal ingredients, giving rise to a number of distinct styles and brands. After juniper, gin tends to be flavored with botanical/herbal, spice, floral or fruit-flavors or often a combination.

Rum is a liquor made by fermenting then distilling sugarcane molasses or sugarcane juice. The distillate, a clear liquid, is usually aged in oak barrels | The beverage has famous associations with the Royal Navy (where it was mixed with water or beer to make grog) and piracy (where it was consumed as bumbo).

Cognac is a variety of brandy named after the commune of Cognac, France.

Grappa is traditionally produced in Northern Italy. The flavor of grappa, like that of wine, depends on the type and quality of the grapes used, as well as the specifics of the distillation process. Grappa is made by distilling the skins, pulp, seeds, and stems (i.e., the pomace) left over from winemaking after pressing the grapes.

Porto, or simply port, is a Portuguese fortified wine produced with distilled grape spirits exclusively in the Douro Valley in the northern provinces of Portugal. It is typically a sweet, red wine, often served as a dessert wine, although it also comes in dry, semi-dry, and white varieties. After centuries of port wine’s success, other port-style fortified wines started to be produced outside Portugal. However, under the European Union Protected Designation of Origin guidelines, only products from Portugal are allowed to be labeled “port” or “Porto”.
